Scorched Realities is a mixed-media project that explores the climate change challenges faced by China, particularly
the increasing intensity of heatwaves and extreme weather conditions. Using photographs taken across various regions,
I printed the images onto acetate sheets and worked over them with a range of materials including acrylic paint, chalk,
pens, and other mixed media, employing a collage technique. This approach reflects the layers of environmental, social,
and cultural impacts that climate change brings, offering a fragmented yet cohesive representation of the crisis. Through
this project, I aim to highlight the urgency of addressing these challenges while creating a visual narrative that captures
the tension between the natural world and the human influence on it.
